Committee on Claims be paid the same compensation
heretofore paid the messenger of that committee; dating
from January 15th, 1900.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Claims.

On motion of Mr. Foster, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Hopkins be excused on account of
sickness.

LEAVES TO INTRODUCE BILLS.
On motion of Mr. Proctor,

Leave was granted to the Harford county delegation
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act authorizing the
County Commissioners of Harford county to levy a pen-
sion for Samuel John Wesley of said county. "

Also,

Leave was granted to the Harford county delegation
to introduce a bill entitled "An Act authorizing the
County Commissioners of Harford county to levy a pen-
sion for James Bennington of said county. "

On motion of Mr. Stewart,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 18, of
Article 41, of the Code of Public General Laws of Mary-
land, title 'Governor, ' and to re-enact the same with
amendments. "

On motion of Mr. Walsh,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to amend Article 10, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title 'Attorneys-at-
Law and Attorneys in Fact, ' by adding a new section
thereto, to be entitled 'Section 16 A. ' "
On motion of Mr. Robinson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled "An Act to provide for
the placing of an oil portrait picture of Henrietta Maria,
after who the State was named, in the House of Dele-
gates, and to appropriate a sum of money therefor. "

On motion of Mr. Brown, of Frederick, (by request, )
