House bill, entitled "An Act in relation to the validity
of certain contracts. "

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Lehmayer, from the Judiciary Committee, request-
ed that

House bill entitled "An Act to authorize the Board of
Police Commissioners of Baltimore city to increase the
pension of James D. Anderson, a retired policeman of
the police force of Baltimore city, "

Be referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Which was considered, and
On motion

Referred to said delegation.

Also reported favorably, with proposed amendments,

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal sections 740 and
741, of Article 4, of Public Local Laws, entitled 'City of
Baltimore, ' sub-title 'Police Commissioners, ' as am ended
and re-enacted by chapter 123, of the Acts of 1898, and
to re-enact the same with amendments. "

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Knott, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably,

House bill entitled "An Act to amend the charter of
the Catonsville Water Company. "
Which was read a first time.

Mr. Lehmayer, from the Committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably,

House bill entitled "An Act to make valid powers of
attorney made by married women. "

Which was read a first time.

Also reported favorably, with proposed amendments,

House bill entitled "An Act to provide for the creation
of a board of Police Examiners of Baltimore city, to de-
fine and prescribe the duties thereof, and to regulate
appointments to, promotion, reductions in rank, and
transfers in and removals from the police force of said
city, and to repeal all Acts and parts of Acts inconsistent
with this Act, said provisions to be a part of Article 4,
Public Local Laws, sub-title ' Police Commissioners, ' and
