The bill, as amended, was then read a second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 259, of
Article 27, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
'Crimes and Punishments sub-title 'traction engines and
to re-enact the same with an amendment. "
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

"Provided, that the provisions of this bill shall not ap-
ply to Howard county. "

Which was adopted.

After the word "Howard, " add "St. Mary's. "

Which was adopted.

The bill, as amended, was read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled "An Act to authorize and empower
the County Commissioners of Carroll county, to adjust
and settle the accounts of W. Smilser, late collector of
county taxes of Carroll county. "

Which was read a second time and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.

House bill, entitled "An Act to incorporate the town of
Midland in Allegany county. "

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In section 15, line 1. strike out the words "James H.
Carpenter, " and substitute instead thereof the words
"Isaiah Horton. "

The bill, as amended, was read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal sections 269, 271
and 272 of Article 22, of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title 'Washington County, ' sub-title 'Justices of the
Peace and Constables, ' and to re-enact the same with
amendments, and to add new sections to said Article 22,
to be designated as 'Sections 265 A, 265 B, 265 C, 265 D,
265 E, 265 F, 265 G, 271 A, 271 B, 272 A. ' "
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend by striking out all after "a bill, " and insert the
following:

"An Act to repeal sections 265 and 271, of Article 22,
