On motion of Mr. Sandman, it was
Ordered, That Henry P. Mann be excused from at-
tendance at this night's session on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr. Simmons, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Gibson be excused from to-night's
session on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr. Biggs it was
Ordered, That Mr. Wolfinger be excused from attend-
ance at this session on account of sickness.
Mr. Buckey submitted the following order:
Whereas, a certain bill providing for the abolition of
the office of State Fire Marshall has been in the Com-
mittee on Insurance and Loans for a period of over six
weeks; and whereas, on Wednesday, March 7th, at a
meeting of said committee seven members being present
five of which voted for a favorable report; therefore, be
it ordered, That the chairman of the Committee on In-
surance and Loans be required to report said bill at this
evening's session.
Which was rejected.
LEAVES TO INTRODUCE BILLS.
On motion of Mr. Dryden,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 3,
of chapter 419, of the Acts of 1892. of the Public Gen-
eral Laws, title 'Stallions, ' and re-enact the same with
amendments. "
On motion of Mr. Latrobe,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Chesapeake
Bay and Its Tributaries to introduce a bill entitled "An
Act to establish and promote the industry of oyster cul-
ture in the State of Maryland. "
On motion of Mr. Martenet,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore city delegation to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to amend Article 4, of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title 'City
of Baltimore, ' section 6, title 'General Powers, ' sub-sec-
tion 'Streets, Bridges and Highways, ' by adding thereto
