1800.
    IV.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the clerk of the said county, at their next county court, shall lay
the damages so assessed before the said court, and the justices of the said court shall levy upon the
assessable property of the said county the damages so adjudged to be sustained by the persons through
whose lands the road as aforesaid shall pass, and which sum, when collected, shall be paid to the person
or persons sustaining such damages by the collector of the said county.

CHAP. XXVII.
An ACT to correct a mistake in the beginning of Lot No. three
    thousand nine hundred and eighty-three of the lands lying westward
    of Fort Cumberland.
WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition of Christian Mussleman,
that a patent has been granted to him for a lot of land lying westward of Fort Cumberland,
distinguished on the plot be lot No. three thousand nine hundred and eighty-three, and that the surveyor,
in making a return of the courses of the said lot, has represented the same to begin at the
beginning of Lot No. three thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, instead of lot No. three thousand
seven hundred and fifty-eight, the true beginning of the said lot No. three thousand nine hundred
and eighty-three; and the facts stated in the said petition appearing to be true,

    II.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the register of the land-office for
the western shore be and he is hereby authorised, empowered and directed, to correct the mistake 
made by the surveyor in his return of the courses of the said lot No. three thousand nine hundred
and eighty-three, by altering the said return, and also to correct the patent for, and record of, the
same, so as to make the said lot begin at the beginning of lot No. three thousand seven hundred and
fifty-eight, instead of lot No. three thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, as it now stands; provided,
that nothing herein contained shall affect the right of any other person.

Mistake to be
corrected, &c.

CHAP. XXVIII.
A Supplement to an act, entitled, An act to establish a bank, and
                            incorporate the subscribers thereto.
WHEREAS it appears by the act of incorporation of the bank, commonly called the Bank
of Baltimore, that not more than two thirds of the directors in office shall be eligible as directors
for the ensuing year, which is found on practice to be very inconvenient; therefore,

    II.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That so much of the original act to which
this is a supplement as requires that not more than two thirds of the directors in office shall be eligible
as directors for the ensuing year shall be and is hereby repealed.

    III.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That nothing herein contained shall have force or effect until the consent
of the stockholders in the said bank shall be given at a general meeting of the said corporation,
and transmitted, under their corporate seal, signed by the president of said bank, to the clerk of the
general court of the western shore, and to be by him recorded in the records of said court.

CHAP. XXIX.
An ACT for the relief of Thomas McCutchen, of Cæcil county.
WHEREAS Thomas McCutchen, of Cæcil county, emigrated to, and settled in, this state, and 
since his emigration and settlement as aforesaid has acquired real property therein, and his
title to such property, from his not having become naturalized agreeably to the laws of the United
States, may be called in question, to his great detriment and injury; therefore,

    II.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the title to the real property, lawfully
and fairly acquired by the aforesaid Thomas McCutchen, whether such title be derived by gift,
grant, purchase or devise, he and the same is hereby as amply and as fully vested in the person aforesaid,
to all intents and purposes, as if he had been naturalized agreeably to said laws; provided
always, that nothing in this act contained shall in any manner defeat or affect any right, title or 
claim, to the said property, or any part thereof, acquired or prosecuted by any person or persons
whatever before the passage of this act; and provided also, that unless the said Thomas McCutchen
shall, on or before the first day of June next, proceed according to law to make himself a citizen of
the United States, this act shall have no effect to confirm his title to the property above mentioned,
