VOTES and PROCEEDINGS, November Session, 1800.
The clerk of the house of delegates delivers the
following message:
By the HOUSE of DELEGATES, November 5, 1800.
GENTLEMEN OF THE SENATE,
WE have appointed Mr. McPherson, Mr. Montgomery,
Mr. Jones, Mr. Wilson and Mr. Bond, a committee
on the part of this house to join such gentlemen as you may nominate,
to form a committee of both houses to
compare and examine all bills from time to time during the session
as soon as they shall be severally engrossed.

Which was read.
The senate appointed Mr. Samuel Maynard, junior,
assistant clerk, who qualified as such, by taking the several
oaths as required, and subscribing a declaration of his belief in the
Christian religion.
The senate adjourns till to-morrow morning 10 o'clock.

on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.
The clerk of the house of delegates delivers a bill,
entitled, An act to revive the levy court of Baltimore
county, endorsed; " By the house of delegates, November 6, 1800:
Read the first and second time by
" especial order and will pass.
" By order,
W. HARWOOD, clk."
And a bill, entitled, An act to revive and aid the proceedings of the
orphans court of Saint-Mary's county,
endorsed; " By the house of delegates, November 7, 1800: Read
the first and second time by especial order
" and will pass.
" By order,
W. HARWOOD, clk."
Which were severally read the first time and ordered to lie on the
table.
The senate adjourns till to-morrow morning 10 o'clock.

November 8, 1800.
THE senate met. Present the same members as
on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.
Charles Ridgely, of Hampton, Uriah Forrest and David
McMechen, Esquires, appeared, and qualified in
the presence of the senate, before Allen Quynn, Esquire, one of the
justices of the peace for Anne-Arundel
county, agreeably to the constitution and form of government.
The clerk of the house of delegates delivers a bill,
entitled, An act to aid and revive the proceedings of the
orphans court of Talbot county, endorsed; " By the house of delegates,
November 6, 1800: Read the first
" time and ordered to lie on the table.

" By the house of delegates, November 7, 1800: Read the second
time by especial order and will pass.
" By order,
W. HARWOOD, clk."
And a bill, entitled, An act to repeal an act, entitled, An act for
the more effectual preservation of the breed of
wild deer in Somerset and Dorchester counties, so far as it respects
the county of Dorchester, endorsed; " By
" the house of delegates, November 7, 1800: Read the first time
and ordered to lie on the table.

Which were severally read the first time and ordered to lie on the
table.
The president communicates to the senate a letter
from the governor of this day, respecting the act to incorporate
a company for cutting and making a canal between the river Delaware
and the Chesapeake bay, and an
address from the council, containing an account of their proceedings
in reference to sundry acts of the legislature
of the last session; which were read and ordered to lie on the table.
The following message was prepared, read, agreed
to, and sent to the house of delegates by the clerk.

GENTLEMEN,
WE have appointed John Grahame, William H. Dorsey,
William Hindman, Charles Goldsborough, junior,
and William Hemsley, junior, Esquires, a committee on the part of the
senate to join the committee appointed
by your house for the examination of engrossed bills.
