The bill for the relief of Henry Disherd, of Frederick
county, was read the second time by especial order and
will pass.
The resolution respecting the laws compiled by William
Kilty, was read the second time by especial order and
assented to.
The supplement to the act for the promotion of literature
in this state, was read the second time and will not
pass.
The resolution in favour of colonel Francis Ware,
was read the second time by especial order and unanimously
assented to.
The bill to enlarge the powers of the commissioners
of the town of Havre-de-Grace, was read the second time
and will pass with the proposed amendment.
Amendment proposed. After the word "shingles"
in the third line of the second page insert "offered for sale."
The resolution respecting repairs of the stadt-house,
was read the second time and assented to.
The bill for the relief of John Woodall, of Kent county,
was read the second time and will pass.
The bill for the benefit of Henry Joseph Stier, of Prince-George's
county, was read the second time and will
pass with the proposed amendments.
Amendments proposed. Strike out from the word
"property" in the seventh line of the first page to the
word "therefore" in the ninth line of the same page. At the end of
the bill add, " and provided also, that unless
the said Henry Joseph Stier shall, on or before the first day of June next,
proceed according to law to make himself
a citizen of the United States, this act shall have no effect to confirm
his title to the property above mentioned,
nor shall he, or any person claiming under him, derive any benefit under
this act; but if the said Henry
Joseph Stier shall die before the time when, by the laws of the United
States, he may become a citizen thereof,
nothing in this proviso contained shall prevent him from transmitting or
transferring his said property by descent
or devise to any issue he may leave residing within the United States,
who is hereby declared capable in law to
hold the same, or to any other person, being a citizen of the United States,
and capable in law to hold the
same.

THE senate met. Present the same members as
on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.
The bill to prevent swine from going at large in
the town of Queen-Anne, in Prince-George's county,
the bill to prevent the going at large of geese and swine in Creager's-town,
in Frederick county, the bill to alter
the times of the session of Baltimore county court, of the court of oyer
and terminer and gaol delivery for Baltimore
county, and of the court of appeals, the bill to alter such parts of the
constitution and form of government
as relate to voters and qualification of voters, the amendments thereto,
the bill for the relief of Henry
Disherd, of Frederick county, the supplement to the act for the promotion
of literature in this state, the bill to
enlarge the powers of the commissioners of the town of Havre-de-Grace,
the amendment thereto, the bill for
the relief of John Woodall, of Kent county, the bill for the benefit of
Henry Joseph Stier, of Prince-George's
county, the amendments thereto, the resolution respecting the laws
compiled by William Kilty, the resolution in
favour of colonel Francis Ware, and the resolution respecting repairs of
the stadt-house, were sent to the house
of delegates by the clerk.
The bill to levy on the assessable property of Anne-Arundel
county a sum of money for the purpose herein
after mentioned, was read the second time and will pass with the proposed
amendments.
Amendments proposed. Strike out from the word
"sums" in the interlineation between the thirteenth and
fourteenth lines of the second page to the end of the session, and insert,
" ought to have been paid to said Ellicotts
until the same shall be payable by the collector as hereafter directed,
and costs expended." Strike out the
words " without interest" in the interlineation between the sixteenth and
seventeenth lines of the same page.
After the word "the" in the eighteenth line of the same page strike out
the second word "to" in the nineteenth
line of the same page, and insert, " sum to be settled and adjusted by
the levy court as aforesaid."
The president communicates to the senate a petition
from James McHenry and James Carroll, of Baltimore
county, counter to the passage of the bill to enable the mayor and city
council of Baltimore to introduce water
into the said city; which was read and ordered to lie on the table.
The bill to levy on the assessable property of Anne-Arundel

The resolution in favour of Hannah West, was read the
second time and dissented from.
The clerk of the house of delegates delivers a bill,
entitled, A further supplement to an act, entitled, An act
to establish and regulate a market at Bridge-town in Kent county, and for
other purposes, endorsed; " By the
" house of delegates, December 9, 1800: Read the first time and ordered
to lie on the table.
