The bill to lay out and open a road from Jesse Tomlinson's, on Bradock's
old road, to Matthew Ball's, on
George's creek, endorsed; " By the senate, November 21, 1800: Read
the first time and ordered to lie on the

pass with the proposed amendment.

Which amendment was read the first and second time,
agreed to, and the bill ordered to be engrossed.
A letter from his excellency the governor, with enclosures, respecting
the stock in the bank of England, endorsed;
" By the senate, November 26, 1800: Read and referred to the consideration
of the house of delegates.

Which were read, and referred to the committee of finance.
And a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled, An act to establish
a bank, and incorporate the subscribers
thereto, endorsed; " By the senate, November 26, 1800: Read the first
and second time by especial order
" and will pass.

Which was read the first and second time by especial
order, and the question put, That the said bill do pass?
Determined in the negative.
Sent to the senate by the clerk.
The house adjourns till to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

THE house met. Present the same members as
on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.
Petitions from James Colquhoun and James Law, of the
city of Baltimore, praying acts of insolvency,
were preferred, read, and referred to the committee appointed on petitions
of a similar nature.
On motion, Leave given to bring in an additional supplement
to the act passed at April session, seventeen
hundred and eighty-seven, entitled, An act to lay out several turnpike
roads in Baltimore county. ORDERED,
That Mr. Worthington, Mr. Chapman and Mr. Love, be a committee to prepare
and bring in the same.
Mr. Worthington, from the committee, delivers to the
speaker a bill, entitled, An additional supplement
to the act passed at April session, seventeen hundred and eighty-seven,
entitled, An act to lay out several turnpike
roads in Baltimore county; which was read the first time and ordered to
lie on the table.
The house took into consideration the order of the day
respecting sundry applicants for acts of insolvency, and
the memorial of the merchants of the city of the Baltimore, counter to
their applications, and after hearing counsel
at the bar of the house, the further consideration thereof is postponed
till to-morrow morning.
The house adjourns till to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

A petition from William S. Moore, of the city of Baltimore,
praying a supplement may pass to the law for
the opening of Second-street, in the said city, to authorise the sheriff
of Baltimore county to summon a jury of
twelve disinterested men to carry the law into effect, was preferred, read,
and referred to Mr. Smith, of Baltimore,
Mr. McCulloch and Mr. Worthington, to consider and report thereon.
A petition from Peter Hoffman and son, counter to the
petition of Valck and company, was preferred, read,
and referred to the committee appointed on the petition to which it is
counter.
A petition from Robert Courtney, of the city of Baltimore,
was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Smith,
of Baltimore, Mr. Worthington and Mr. Stansbury, to consider and report
thereon.
A petition from William Works, of Cæcil county,
an alien, praying a confirmation of his title to certain lands,
was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Forman, Mr. Nelson and Mr. Shriver,
to consider and report thereon.
A petition from James Woodland, of Kent county,
counter to the petition of John Roche, was preferred,
read, and referred to the committee appointed on the petition to which
it is counter.
Petitions from William Cooke, William Smith, of the
city of Baltimore, and Andrew Banks, of Baltimore
county, praying acts of insolvency, were preferred, read, and referred
to the committee appointed on petitions
of a similar nature.
A petition from John Woodall, of Kent county, praying
a confirmation of his title to a house and lot at a
place called New-Market, purchased of an alien, was preferred, read, and
referred to Mr. Parker, Mr. Chambers
and Mr. Angier, to consider and report thereon.
The house resumed the consideration of the order of
the day respecting sundry applicants for acts of insolvency,
and the memorial of the merchants of the city of Baltimore, counter to
their applications, and after hearing
counsel at the bar of the house, the further consideration thereof is postponed
till to-morrow morning.
