and the 15th: day of August aforesaid
Present Comrs: as aforesaid ~ ~
Came William Morris & Samuell Hayden & became bound indebted to the Rtt: honoble: the Ld: propry:
in the full Sume of fforty pounds Sterl: to be Leavied on their goods & Chattles Lands &
Tenements The Condicon being Such that if Wm: Morrison shall make his personall
appearance every Court held heare in Somrsett County & that dureing pleasure as alsoe
if the said Wm: Morrison will in the interim make appeare that he is a ffreeman &
has in noe waies acted any thing Contrary to Law that then the Above Obligacon
To be void otherwise to remaine in full force & power &a:

Came John Hambly & Marmaduck Mister & became indebted to the Rtt: honoble: the Lord
Propry: in the full sume of fforty pounds Sterl: money of England to be Leavied on theire
goods & Chattles Lands & Tennements for the use aforesaid The Condicon being Such //
That if Thomas Morrison Shall & will make his personall appearance every Court held
here in Somrsett County dureing the Tearme of one full yeare & a day or if in the interim
he bring a Certificate under the hand of any Justice of the peace liveing & resideing in any
County within the Collony of virga: & the said Certificate to be Sealed with the Seale of the said
County & attested by the Clk of the said County the said Certificate makeing Appeare that
The aforesaid Thomas Morrison is a ffreeman & noe waise a Servt: & that in the meane
Time he be of the good abearance Towards all the good people within this Province that then
The above Obligacon to be void otherwise to remaine in full force power & vertue

planter & Jean his wife were Sumoned to answer unto Walter
Lane of this County in an accon upon the Case =
And whereupon the plt: by James Sangster his Attourney comes & sayes that the
Said deft: at severall times Secretly and Clandestinly dealt & Truckt with the plts: Servant
and induced the said Servants to Steale & purloyne (from their Masters the plts) severall
goods & comoditties & the same hath reced & made use off vizt: in the Mounth of Aprill or
May Anno Domi 1687 the said Jeane wife to the said James OBroughton reced of the
Said Servants One Bagg full of Eares of Indian Corne & in the Mounth of July follow
The said defts: had one Indian Bowle full of Sheile Corne & in the mounth of October
ffollowing the said defts: did receive of the said Servants a greate quantity of ffeathers
as many as would fill abed & at severall Other times the defts: reced of the said
Servt: pease Beanes & Milk wherefore the plt: declareth that the said OBroughton
hath not Only made abreach of his Lordpps good Laws but alsoe indammage the plt:
To the vallue of Three Thousand pounds of Toba: & thereupon brings his Suite
