know all Men by these presents that I James Baxter of Miniard in the Kingdom of
England mariner am holden and firmely bounden unto ffrancis Jenckins of the Province
of Maryland & County of Sommerset gent^l: in the full & Just Summe of fifty five pounds
eight Shillings of good & Lawfull currant moneys of England to be p^d: to the said ffrancis Jenckins
his Certaine attorney his heires executors adm^rs: or assignes to w^ch: paym^t: well & truly
to be made & done I binde my Selfe my heires executors & adm^rs: firmely by these p^r:sents
to the said ffrancis his heires executors administrators assignes or Certaine attorney In
wittnes whereof I have here unto Sett my hand & Seale this Twenty Second day of april
Annoq Do^m: 1686 in the Eleaventh year of the Dominion of the R^t: honorable Charles &c
over Maryland ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Condicon of this obligacon is such that if the above mentioned bounden James Baxter
his heires executors adm^rs: or assignes Shall pay o^r: Cause to be ~~paid~~ well & truly Satisfied Contented & payd unto
the abovesaid ffrancis Jenckins his heires executors administrat^rs: or assignes or Certain
Attorney the full & Just summe of Twenty seaven pounds fourteene Shillings at some
one Convenient Towne in the afores^d: County of Som^r:set in the Province of Maryland with
out fraud or Cozen at the Currant rate at moneys now goeth both in the afores^d: province
as alsoe in the Kingdome of England at the ensealing hereof at or before y tenth day of
November next ensueing the Date hereof in Current money Sterling that then this
present obligacon to be voyd and of none effect otherwaies to Stand & remaine in full
force power & virtue ~ ~ ~ ~ James Baxter Sealed

Edm: Beauchamp to the above Said & before the Court they made oath that they
Sawe James Baxter Signe Seale & deliver the abovesaid

And the said ffrancis Jenckins this day to witt the 14^th: day of March made
oath in open Co^rt: on the holy Evangelist that no part or parcell of the said bond
is rec^d: but what is Creditt given on the back Side of the said bond w^ch: runs thus: vizt
April y 27 Rec^d: then of and from m^r: James Baxter the full & Just summe of one pound Two
1686 Shillings & nine pence in part of y within mentioned I Say re^cd of me ffr^a: Jenckins

Corpus issued to you the Justices of o^r: said County Directed for the removeall of the body
of one John Rouselloe then in y Custody of y Sherife of o^r: Said County together with y
Cause in yo^r: said Court Lyeing & depending betweene Henry Smith plte & the s^d: John
Rouselloe def^t: w^ch: said habeas Corpus not being allowed of by the Justices of our
Provinciall Court for that the Said John Rouselloe hath not entered into recognizance
& given Security upon the issueing out of the same as the Law in y^t: Case requires
