Aprill the 30th: 1689 Comrs: as aforesd: 103
Ordered that mr: Thomas Newbold restore to the Severall and respective persons as
well Indians as others what Woolves Skins he has detained or kept from them there -
haveing been a Complaint made to this Court of the same as well by Indians as by others -
Therefore it is further Ordered that he take none for the future & the formers to be restored

The Peticon of Peter Dent Craveing that he may be admitted and Sworne Attourny of -
This Court which was granted him and Sworne the same day - - - - - -

Ordered that John Hinderson Continew ferriman at Pocomoke ferry where he now
Dwells and that in Consideration of the good attendance he is and ought to give there he be
paid out of the Publick Leavy of this County the Sume of Three thousand pounds of Tobacco
the next yeare

The Peticon of the inhabitants of Sumersett County to this Worsll: Court Sheweth -
That the Subscriber humbly beggs that the Acts made by the last Assembly which Seems
to give encouragemt: for the makeing of English grain Linin and Woolen Cloath (may if
Possible) be disanull'd and made of None effect Otherwise it will not only endanger the -
Peace and safety of this County but likewise hazard the ruine of many famillyes as alsoe -
Occation many ffreemen to desert his Lordpps County Wee further begg your Worshipps
Assistance herein that the Countyes agreiveance may be redressed & they will as in duty bound pray
Severall of the inhabitants haveing Signed to the foregoing Peticon and the same being read
in Court likewise Came ffrancis Jenckins and declard to this Court that his Lordshipps
Councill tould him they would take noe advantage of any of the inhabitants of this County in case
they should disanull and make void the sd: act for encouragemt: as aforesd: amongst Themselves
That is to Say within the precincts and Limitts of this County of Somersett as to them should
Seem meet. This Court haveing taken it into Consideration and seeing the willingness of
all the inhabitants in generall and now Contradicting the Same but all very willing that the said
Act for encouragemt: as aforesd: might be made void
Therefore Ordered that the act made for Encouragemt: of English grain as alsoe Linin &
Woolen be made void and of none effect within this County of Sumersett noe advantage to be
Taken by any of the inhabitants thereof of one another
Returne made Entries Returnable the second Tuesday in June
