oath he made no agreem^t for his Passage with y plte Therefore defendeth y force & Injury Saying he
being a passenger with others & onely desired a passage with him as being his freind not ~~ing~~ thinking he would
have demanded anything of him humbly Craveth a nons^t: w^ch: is ordered this Co^rt:finding no Cause of accon /

Ambrose Dixon this day being the 6^th day of feb:^ry 1683 the Co^rt: Sitting for five hundred pounds
of tobacco Whereupon this Co^rt: ord^rs: y^t John Vigerons pay the Same with Cost of Sute alias execucon.

Som^rset County Ss John Davis Carpent^r late of this County was attached to answ^r unto Joseph ffreeman
of this County Carpent^r in an accon of Debt &c
And whereupon the plte by his attorney Tho: Poole Comes & Saith y^t he the S^d: Davis upon y 15^th day
of August in the year of o^r Lord 1682 become indebted unto y plte the full & Just sume of Twelve
hundred & fifty pounds of tobacco of good Sound Marchantable Tobacco pble upon the 10^th day of october next
ensueing w^ch: we have here in Co^rt to produce bearing date as afores^d und^r y hand & Seale of him the
S^d: Davis wherein he did binde himselfe his heires execut^rs: & adm^rs: to the well & true prformance of
the afores^d paym^t: of 1250^lb of tobacco unto y plte his heires execut^rs: adm^rs: or assignes according to
y tenor of y afores^d bill but he the S^d: Davis little regarding bill but fraudulently intending the plte
to Deceive of the Sume aforesaid doth denie & Still doth denie to pay the Summe afores^d: of 1250^lb of tob.
although often there unto required by the plte whereupon the plte Saith he is damnified and hath
Damage to the value of 2400^lb of tob & thereupon bringss this Sute Pledges de P^o Jn^o: Doe

Maryland Know all Men by these presents That I John Davis of y County of Som^r:set & Province above S^d do
owe & Stand Justly indebted unto Joseph freeman of the S^d County & Province in the Just Sume & quantity
of Twelve hundred & fifty pounds of good Sound Marchantable tobacco in Caske to be p^d Convenient in
the fores^d: County of Som^r:sett at or upon the tenth day of October next ensueing the Date of these p^r:sents
To y well & true performance hereof I binde me my heires execut^rs: & adm^rs: firmly by these p^r:sents
To y S^d Joseph ffreeman his heires executors adm^rs or assignes witnes my hand & Seale this 15^th: day
of August 1683 ~ ~ ~ ~ John Davis (Seale)

then Sitting & before them Confest Judgem^t: for 1250^lb: of tobacco due to Joseph ffreeman whereupon this
Co^rt ord^rs that John Davis Carpent^r pay unto Joseph ffreeman or his ord^r: twelve hundred & fifty pounds
of tobacco with Cost of Sute alias execucon / ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Whereas Thomas Shanck Informed this Co^rt:y^t he Suspected an Indian Comonly Called by the name of Andrew belonging to Tondi
tanck of killing of Hoggs It is ordered y^t the sherife take into Custody y S^d: Andrew & him Secure to answ^r y Complaint at o^r next County Co^rt to be holden y Second Tuesday in March next And That Thomas Shanck doe aid & assist the Sherife about
the Same /
