Whereas mr: Edward Gibbs complaineth agt Thomas Davis Master of y endeavour of barbadoes yt hee hath ~
bought a Servant of y Sd Thomas named Tristram Davis & paid y sd Thomas twleve hundred pounds of
Tobacco for y Sd Servant but cannot enjoy him as a servt &c Desiers yt Attachmt may bee grannted to answr
his Suit in an accon of y Case The said Edward Gibbs having made appeare before y Cort yt hee hath paid y sd
Thomas 1200lb: tob: for y Sd: Tristram & cannot enjoy y Sd Tristram as his Servt Doe order attachmt on y goods

Whereas Mary Wilson by her selfe in her owne person appeares before y Cort: humbly Craves her freedome
She Saying yt Shee hath finished y time of servitude with Mr Wm: Brereton & produceth this following
indenture wch is read vizt: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ This Indenture made y Sixteenth Day of Octobr: in y yeare
of or Lord one thousand Six hundred Seaventy two Betweene Mary Willson of y one party & Anthony
Alderson of y othr party Wittnesseth yt y sd Mary Wilson Doth hereby Covenant promise & grannt to &
with y Sd Anthony Alderson his executors & assignes from y Day of y Date hereof untill her first & next
arrivall att Virginia & after for & Dureing y terme of four yeares to Serve in Such Service & employment
as hee y Sd: Anthony Alderson or his assignes shall there employ her in according to y Custome of y Country
In y like kinde, In Consideracon whereof y sd: Anthony Alderson Doth hereby Covenant & grannt to and
with y sd: Mary Willson to pay for her passing & to finde & allow her meat Drink apparrell & Lodging
with othr necessaries Dureing y Sd terme & att y end of y Sd terme to pay unto her one yeares provision
Two Suits of apparrell & one hundred acres of land according to y Custome of y Country In Wittness
whereof y parties abovenamed to these Indentures have interchangeably Sett their hands & Seales y

The Antegoe merchant mr Thomas Perry Master arrived in y Cape of Virginia y 14th Day of Decbr: in y yeare: 1672
And the Deft: Mr: Brereton by himselfe in his owne person Commeth & Defendeth: &c And saith Shee went
by y name of Lee & hee knew nothing of an Indenture & therefore requires her service for five yeares: ~
This Cort: orders yt the sd: Mary Wilson remaine in Service with mr: Wm: Brereton untill next County Cort
& then if mr Wm: Brereton cannot make appeare by Sufficient assignement yt Shee was to Serve five years
or by his oath upon y holy Evangelist Shee was to Serve him 5 years Then y Sd Brereton to allow her

in an accon of y Case &c. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
And whereupon y sd John by his attorney Thomas Poole Saith yt hee y said Colebourne became indebted ~
unto him y sd Tylor February last past in y yeare Annoqe Domini 1676. The full & just Summ of Two --
Thousand one hundred & ninety pounds of tobacco & Casqe as pr accompt here in Cort: produced more plainely
will appeare but hee y Sd Colebourne fraudulently intending to Deceive him y Sd Tyler of y aforesaid --
Summ of 2190lb of Tobacco in Caske Denyeth & Still Doth Deny to pay y aforesaid summ although often
thereunto required y plt saith yt hee is Damnified & hath Damage to y value of Two Thousand nine hun
dred pounds of tobacco & Casqe & thereupon brings his suit:/: prquer: Tho: Poole: / : ~ ~ ~ ~
