ought lawfully to Enquire by whomsoever & whensoever Done or perpetrated or which hereafter shall
happen to bee done or perpetrated in y County aforesaid against y lawes and orders of our said province
provided you proceed not in any Cases aforesaid to take life or member But yt in every Such Case
you Send y persons with their indictments & y whole matter Depending before you to the next
provinciall Court to bee holden for our Said province whensoever or wheresoever to bee holden there
to be tryed and further wee Doe hereby authorize you to issue writts processe arrests & attachments
to hold plea of Oyer & Terminer & after judgment execution to award in all Cases Civill whether in
actions reall or personall where the thing in action Doth no exceed y value of three thousand
pounds of tobacco according to y lawes orders & reasonable usages made & used in or Said province of
Maryland in which Cases civill Soe to bee tryed wee doe Constitute ordaine & appoint you Wm Stevens
Wm Colebourne & James Jones John White Thomas Walker & George Johnson to bee judges as
aforesaid (unless Some one of or councell be then in Court) and therefore wee Command you that
you Diligently intend y keeping of y peace lawes & orders & all & Singular other y premisses & att
certaine Dayes appointed according to act of assembly in that Case provided & Such places wch: you
or any four or more of you as aforesaid Shall in that behalfe appoint yee make enquiryes upon y
premisses & performe and fullfill y same in forme aforesaid doeing therein that which to justices
appertaineth according to y lawes orders & resonable usuages of our Said province Savinge to us
y amerciaments & other things to us belonging; And therfore wee Comand y sheriffe of the said
County of Somrsett by vertue of these presents yt att y Dayes & places aforesaid which you or any such
four or more of you as aforesaid Shall make knowne to him to give his attendance on you And if need require
to Cause to Come before you or any such four or more of you as aforesaid Such & Soe many good & law
full men of your County by whom y truth in y premisses may ÿ better bee knowne and enquired of
And further you shall cause to bee brought before you att y said Dayes & places y writts precepts~
processes & Indictments to yor Court & jurisdiction belonging that y Same may bee inspected & by a
Due Course Determined as aforesaid Given att or Citty of St Maries under our great Seale of our sd pro
vince of Maryland the sixth day of June in y first yeare of or Dominion over our Said province ~

Knowe all men by these presents yt I William Bradshaw have bargained & Sould and by these presents
Doe bargaine & Sell unto John Pantor three Cowes & Calves A Crumpled Hornd browne heifer marked as~
followeth Cropt of both eares underhalved of both ears & overhalved of both ears a browne pied Cow
Cropt of both ears & a nick in ya right ear called by y name of browning a black Cow called Stately
Cropt rounding of both ears y Said three Cowes & Calves & their increase to him y said Panter his~
heirs or assignes forever and Doe further acknowledge to have Sould y said Panter his heirs or
assignes forever Two Steers one of two yeares ould & the other three both Cropt of y left eare
and three Slitts in ye Crop and Doe for ever warrant & Defend y Said Sale of Cattle from all persons
whaatsoever as wittness my hand & Seale this third Day of august One thousand Six hundred ~
