				  Taylor was summoned to answer unto Henry Mathews

				  of the same County in A plea of Debt &c ; / ;   ~        ~

		And whereupon the said Henry for himselfe saith That he the said

		John became Indebted unto the said Henry The summe of one

		Thousand Six hundred &Ten pounds of good Sound marchantable

		Tobacco & Caske as by A Certaine writing will appeare (here in

		Cort: produced) signed with the hand of him the said John bearing

		Date the 14th: day of october Annoq Domini 1673 And therein the

		said John Did Assume upon himselfe and Promise to pay or

		Cause to be payd unto the said Henry his heires executors:

		admrs: or assignes the sd: quantity of 1610lb: of tob:  Conveniently

		on the bay Side in northampton County in virga: on all Demands

		And for the performance whereof the said John bindes himselfe

		his heires executors: & admrs: But he the said John Little regarding

		his promise and Assumpcon But fraudulently intending to

		Deceive him the said Henry of the said 1610lb: of Tobacco &

		Caske Denyeth and Still Doth to pay the same allthough often

		Demanded The plt: saith he is Damnified & hath Dammadge

		to y vallue of Three Thousand pounds of Tobacco & thereupon
