59 Hootton say that her husband was not able to get A Chilld and
that it was a Sad thing if her husband Coulld neither gett Chilldren
nor ffather them and ffurther saith not ~ ~ ~ ~

Jane Hill aged XXvith: years or thereabouts maketh oath that
she this Deponent Comeing along with one Elizabeth Hootton (as
She understands her name is) on Tuesday last from German Gilletts
to the fferry and amongst other Discourse asking her why She did not
live with her husband the said Elizabeth Hootton told this depont:
that She did not Love him but was with Chilld by Another
before She Maryed her husband and She tooke him onely but
for A Cloake but She said to this Deponent that there was one
James at mr: Stevens which she had A high respect for and
woulld goe through fire and water with him and woulld doe
for him as Long as She Lived and much other Discourse to the
Like purpose and ffurther saith not ~ ~
Sworne the 9th: of January 1671 Jane Hill
before me Wm: Stevens her marke
After the reading of the Aforesaid Deposicons the Cort: bindes
the said Elizabeth Hootton to her good behaviour and upon Security
the Cort: ffor the present dismisses the said Elizabeth Hootton
John Townesend before the board doth binde himselfe to the
Rt: honble: the Lord Proprietary in the summe of twenty pounds
Sterling money of England to be paid to the said Lord Proprietary
or sucksessors Lords and Proprietaries or Certain Attorney Provided
that the said Elizabeth Hootton doe well and truly behave her
selfe in all things Civilly and honestly that then this ingagement
to stand void and of none effect otherwise to Stand in full force
power and virtue ; / ; ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
