William Areskine in A plea of Debt &c ; / ;
And whereupon the said William by his Attorney Henry
Smith saith That the said John became Indebted unto
him the said William in the Just summe or quantity
of foure hundred and ffoureteene pounds of good Sound
marchantable tobacco in Caske as pr A Certaine writing
here in Cort: produced signed with the hand of him the
said John will more plainely appeare bearing date
the 9th: day of July Annoq Domini 1674 wherein the
said John did Assume upon himselfe and promise to pay
unto the said William or his order the aforesaid quantity
of 414lb: of tobacco and Caske upon the 10th: day of november
next ensueing the Date of the said writing And for the
performance thereof he the said John bindes himselfe
his heires or assignes But he the said John fraudulently
intending to Deceive him the said William of the said
quantity of 414lb: of tobacco and Caske Denyeth and Still
doth to pay the same, Although often thereunto required
The plt: saith he is Damnified and hath Dammadge to
the vallue of 1000lb: of tobacco in Caske and thereupon
brings his Suite &c ; / ; pro quer Hen: Smith
July 9th: 1674
This bill oblidgeth me John Bulke my heires or assignes
to pay or Cause to be paid unto Wm: Areskine or his order
one hhd: of tobacco neat foure hundred & foureteene &
one
