of the Rt: honr:ble Caecilius &c Annoq Domini 1674 before
his Lopps: Justices thereunto Assigned & Authorised ; / ;

Sommersett Ss James Price was Summoned to answer unto
William Areskine in A plea of Debt &c ; / ;
And whereupon the said William by his Attorney Henry
Smith saith That he the said James became Indebted unto
him the said William in the Just summe or quantity of
Two Thousand pounds of good sound marchantable tobacco in
Caske, as pr A Certaine writing here produced in Cort: signed with the hand of him the said James will more plainely
appeare bearing Date the 28th: day of June Annoq Domini
1674 wherein the said James Did Assume upon himselfe
and promise to pay unto the said William or his order the
aforesaid quantity of 2000lb: of Tobacco and Caske upon the
10th: of november next ensueing the Date of the said writing
And for the performance thereof he the said James bindes
himselfe his heires or assignes but he the said James frau
dulently intending to Deceive him the said William of
