The Deposicon of William Jenkens aged about twenty
foure yeares deposeth here in Cort:; ~ ~ ~ ~
Sayeth that when I Came aboard the shipp that one of ye seamen
and mr: Lappage was DiscourSeing together said she shoulld
serve but foure yeares mr: Lappage sayde by his word She
shoulld serve noe more and Comeing from aboard the shipp
She Cryed for her Indentures the seaman that Sold her to Lappage
said he woulld send her Indentures and not further saith

Leonard Jones appeares to the Cause Depending and is Sworne
The Deposicon of Leonard Jones aged about thirty nine
yeares or there abouts deposeth here in Cort:
Sayeth That when he was aboard the Richard and James he brought
her in the Sloope over hither to manoakin and Comeing from aboard
the shipp She fell aCrying for her Indenture her master bid her
holld her tongue for he woulld Send them after her ; / ;

The Deposicon of nicholas ffountaine aged thirty yeares or
thereabouts deposeth here in Cort:
I say that Day that neighbour ffurnis Did buy this woman servant
mr: ffurnis Called over the Creeke for A passage and this Mary Mathewes
was with her mistris and her mistris examined her how Long
She had to serve and She made answer ffoure yeares; I sayeth
her mistris that is upon the proviso if yor: master Send yor: Indenture
and severall dayes after I heard mr: Lappage say She had but
foure yeares to serve which was upon A time when he
Called Thomas Davis and Phillip Morris and Sett them Downe
in his booke Soe ffarr I say and further sayth not
