Know All men by these presents yt: wee Stephen Whittman and
Humphry Davis doe Stand indebted unto y Rt: honble: y Lord Proprietary
y sume of ten thousand pounds of tobacco & Caske to be paid upon demand
to wch: performance wee binde our Selves and Ayres & executrs: jointly
or Severally as wittnes our hands and Seales this 6th: August 1672
The Condicon of this obligacon is such that if y above named Stephen Whittman
Shall appeare at y next Cort: helld for the County of Sommersett there to answer
what Shall be Laid to his Charge then this obligacon to be voyd other ways to Stand
in full force & virtue wittnes our hands and Seales y day and year above written
subscribed Stephen Whittman And A
mark Seale
Humphry Davis And A
Seale
Humphry Davis appeares and ownes his hand & Seale to y obligacon
Whereas Humphry Davis was Security for Stephen Whittman
to appeare at this Cort: to answer Severall Crimes and mis
deameanors Committed by the said Whittman against the
peace rule and Dignity of this Government the said
Whittman ffayling Soe to appeare the said Davis is
Committed till he hath Satisfied the Condicon of the bond
