53 Knowe all men by these presents That I Thomas Smith
Late of Accomack County in Virginia Taylor & now Living for y
present & now Living for the present in Sommersett County
in the province of Maryland, I the said Thomas Smith being
blessed of A visible estate Lyeing in Accomack County in Virga
aforesaid being in Cattle hoggs household goods tobaccoes
due unto me by whomesoever or wheresoever being made
appeare to be the proper estate of me the said Thomas
Smith aforesaid, Doe by these presents Constitute ordeine
and appointe my trusty frind Henry Stot of the County of
Accomack in Virga: aforesaid plantor: to be my true & Lawfull
attorney & Deputy for me & in my name, but to the
proper use & behoofe of the aforesaid Henry Stot to aske -
Demand, require, recover & receive by order of Laws or
otherwise, All & all Such Summe & or summes of tobacco, pork
marchandizes, household goods as Doe or may appeare to be
Due to me by booke, bill, bond, or any other Speciallty or left
in the possession of any person or persons now Inhabiting or
Dwelling in any of the parts of Virginia & in my name but
to his proper use & behoofe as aforesaid, to Sue, persue, arrest
Implead or Imprison all or any person or persons soe Indebted
to me, as alsoe to make Secure & take into his possession all
manner of goods marchandizes & household Stuffe as alsoe
Cattle & hoggs there in the Said Collonell of Virginia, known
to be belonging unto me the said Thomas Smith, And in
my name to implore Lawes & obteyne Ayde favour Justice
Judgement & execucon, And if he Shall See fitt from
prison
