and that it Commonly Reported in that Neighbourhood that Such her grief
was the Cause of or hastned her Death It being Likewise reported that She
Swooned away when first She was informed of the True Contents of those
last mentioned Deeds and that She Dyed in a few Months after the Execu-
tion thereof. And upon this the Same Daniel desired of the Jurors who
were to try the Issue afd that the Would give their Verdict for the afd Daniel
in and upon the premisses upon which the Said John Bush to prove himself
Not Guilty of the Tresspass and Ejectment afd gave in Evidence that a Certain
Judith Stanley late of Talbott County was Seized in fee Simple of all and
Singular the Lands and premisses afd and So thereof being Seized in the year
of our Lord Sixteen hundred and Ninety Six that the Same Judith Signed a
Letter wrote by the Said Grundy and Directed to Robert Gouldsboroug a
Lawer [sic] to draw Deeds for that purpose Which Letter followeth in these
Words Vizt Mr Gouldsborough This Comes from me to give you to Under-
stand that I do give my full Consent that all my Land Which fell to me by
the Death of my father Richard Girling And now is in my possession May
be made fully over to Robert Grundy and to his heirs and Assigns for ever
In Consideration of between us That is to Say all these Tracts of Land fol-
lowing Buckland 250 Acres Gurlington 200 Acres Rumley Marsh 300 Acres
The Addition 100 Acres Murrey 150 Acres Buckland 50 Which is in all One
Thousand 50 Acres of Land which I have delivered to the Said Robert
Grundy and all the Patents And do give my full Consent to this above writ-
ten As Wittness my hand this 15th day of Aprill 1696 Judith Stanley And
that the Said Judith Afterwas Vizt the Sixth day of August Anno Dom 1696
Sealed and Delivered the following Deed Vizt

This Indenture made the Sixth Day of August in the year of our Lord
1696 Between Robert Grundy Marriner of Talbott County of the one party
and Judith Stanley of Talbot Widow on the other part Wittnesseth that for
and in Consideration of a Marriage to be Shortly had and Solemnized be-
tween the Said Robert Grundy and Judith Stanley It is Covenanted granted
Concluded Condescended and fully Agreed by and [619] between the Said
parties to those presents in Manner and form following That is to Say I the
Said Judith Stanley have given and granted And by these presents do freely
Clearly and Absolutely give and grant to the abovesaid Robert Grundy his
Heirs Exrs Admrs and Assigns for Ever all these Tracts and parcells of Land
Lying upon the North Side of Choptank River in Talbot County which was
formerly in the Possession of my Father Richard Girdling [sic] but now in my
Possession being the Heiress of my Father Richard Girdling Therefore I
give and grant from me and my Heirs all that Tract of Land Called Buck-
land lying and being in Talbot County on the North Side of Choptank
River Containing two hundred and fifty Acres more or Less According to
Patent unto Robert Grundy his heirs Ex™ Admra and Assigns for Ever and all
that Tract of Land Called Gurlington Containing two hundred Acres Ac-
