said Philemon Lloyd Esq^r did intrust the said Thomas Dent Sheriff af^d with
Sundry fees due unto him the said Phillemon Lloyd Esq^r by Occasion of the
Office of Deputy Secretary as af^d from Sundry Persons living in Charles
County af^d to be by him the said Thomas Dent Sheriff af^d Collected and Ac-
counted for according to his the said Thomas Dent his Duty of Sheriff and

the Condition af^d Amounting in thf whnle to the sum of Nineteen thousand

Eight hundred Ninety one pounds of Tobacco to witt on the tenth day of
December Anno Domi Seventeen hundred and twelve af^d at Charles County
af^d And the said Attorney Gen^ll further sayth that the said Thomas Dent hath
not past an Account of the said Fees to the said Phillemon Lloyd Esq^r as af^d
by the tenth day of April then next following the date of the said Writting
Obligatory nor paid the Tobacco Due on the said List to the said Phillimon
Lloyd Esq^r or Order According to the duty of his Office af^d And the form of
the Condition af^d but the same Nineteen Thousand Eight hundred and
ninety one pounds of Tobacco yet remains wholly unpaid to the said Phille-
mon Lloyd Esq^r or order And the said Attorney Gen^ll further sayth that after-
wards to wit the Tenth day of December Anno Domi: Seventeen hundred
and thirteen he the said Phillemon at Charles County af^d Hid Intrust the said
Thomas Dent as Sherriff af^d with Sundry other Fees Due unto him the said
Phillemon by Occation of his said Office of Deputy Secretary afs^d from sundry
other person living in Charles County af^d to be by him the said Thomas Dent
Sherriff as aforesaid Collected and Accounted for according to his the said
Thomas Dents Duty [558] of Sheriff And the Condition af^d amounting to the
summ of twenty thousand Seven hundred and two pounds of Tobacco And
the said Attorney Gen^ll Further saith That the said Thomas Dent hath not
past any Account of the said Fees to the said Philemon Lloyd Esq^r nor paid
him the said Philemon the Tobacco that arose due on the said list according
to the Duty of his said Office and the form of the Condition afs^d but as well
the twenty thousand Seven hundred and two pounds of Tobacco last men-
tioned as the aforementioned Nineteen thousand Eight hundred Ninety one
pounds of Tobacco in the whole amounting to forty thousand five hundred
and ninety three pounds of Tobacco yet remaining due and wholly unpaid
to the said Philemon or Order And this the said Attorney Genⁿ is ready to
verifie wherefore for the said Lord the King he prays Judgment for the Debt
af^d and the Damage by Occasion of detaining the same Debt to the said Lord
the King to be Adjudged etc.

And the said Daniel and Elizabeth Ex^rx as af^d as to the severall fees and
Dues in the plea af^d mentioned amounting to the sum of Nineteen thousand
Eight hundred and Ninety One pounds of Tobacco Say that the said Phile-
mon Lloyd Esq^r in the Plea af^d mentioned did not intrust the said Thomas
Dent with the Collection thereof and of this they put themselves upon the
Country.

And as to the residue of the plea af^d by Replication above pleaded the
