MARYLAND ss. Anne by the Grace of God of Great Brittain France and
Ireland Queen defender of the faith etc. To our trusty and Welbeloved
William Holland Esqr Chief Justice of our Provinciall Court of Maryland
Greeting because in the Record and process and also in the rendring of
Judgment of A plea of Debt which was in the Provinciall Court of our dear
brother the Lord William the third late King of England etc. before John
Hammond and his Associates late Justices of the said late King of the same
Court in the Eighth Year of the reign of the said Late King Annoque Domini
Sixteen hundred Ninety Six by Writt betwixt our late Royall predecessors
King William and Queen Mary etc. plantiffs (and Henry Mitchell now de-
ceasd defendant.) of A certain debt of One thousand pounds Sterling which
he the said Late King in the same his late Majestys Court before the said
John Hamond and his Associates aforesaid recoverd against the said Henry
Mitchell in the plea aforesaid as ii is said manifest Error has hapned to the
Great dammage of [244] Grace Mitchell and Daniell Phillips of Calvert
County Administrators of all and Singular the goods and Chatties rights
and Creditts which were of Henry Mitchell deceased as of their complaint
Wee have received Wee being Willing that the Error if any their be should
be duely corrected and full and Speedy Justice done in this behalf Comand
You that if Judgment be thereof rendred then the record and process of the
plea aforesaid with all things thereunto relating to our President and Coun-
cill of Maryland at Annapolis the twelfth day of May next under your hand
and Seale distinctly and openly you send and this writt that the record and
process aforesaid being inspected our said president and Councill may fur-
ther cause to be done for the Correcting that Error what of right and Ac-
cording to the Law shalbe to be done Witness our self at the City of An-
napolis aforesaid this 2Oth day of April in the 12th Year of our reign etc.

Alt Which said Twelfth day of May aforesaid being the day of the re-
turne of the aforesaid writt the record and process of the plea in the Writt
aforesaid Mentioned with all things thereunto relating to her said Majestys
President and Councill of Maryland by Wm Holland [Esqr] Chief Justice of
the said Provinciall Court of Maryland are sent the Tenour whereof fol-
lows Vizt
