XXXIV. |
III. And be
it likewise Enacted, That such oath, or Affirmation if a
Quaker, and Certificate obtained, shall entitle the Person and Persons
to the
Quantity of Tobacco herein directed to be paid for such Squirrels and
Crows
so killed, in the then next County Levy of the said County of Baltimore.
IV. And be it
likewise Enacted, That every person who is obliged to kill
any Number of Squirrels or crows by this Act, or that shall be entitled
to
any Bounty for killing Squirrels or Crows by this Act, he, she, or
they, or
some other credible Person, shall make Oath, (or Affirmation if a Quaker)
before some Magistrate, that such Squirrels or Crows were killed in
the said
County of Baltimore; any Law to the contrary in any wise notwithstanding.
V. Provided always,
That
it shall and may be lawful for the several and
respective Inhabitants within this Province, to pay and discharge the
said several
and respective Quantities of Tobacco, so to be levied and raised, to
and
for the Uses aforesaid, in Current Money, in the same Manner as they
are
enabled to pay and discharge the Public or County Levy.
VI. This Act to be in Force for and during
the Term of Three Years,
and unto the End of the next Session of Assembly, which shall happen
after
the Expiration of the said Three Years.

Personally appeared before us John Brice
and
George Steuart, and
Esqrs
Two of his Lordship the Right Honourable
the Lord Proprietary of the said
Province his Justices of the Provincial
Court, Reverdy Ghiselin, Gent. Clerk
of the said Provincial Court, and
Thomas
Bacon, Clerk, Rector of All-Saints
Parish, in Frederick County,
and produced Six Manuscript Books or Volumes
in Folio, Marked Nº
1, Nº
2, Nº
3, Nº
4, Nº
5, and Nº
6, containing
a Transcript of the ACTS OF ASSEMBLY
of this Province, now in Force or
Use, from the Year 1637, to the
Year 1762, both inclusive, as the same
have been Collected into one Body
by the aforesaid Thomas Bacon; and made
Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty
GOD, That they had carefully and
diligently Examined and Compared
all the several Acts contained in the said
Transcript, which are Written at
Large in the said Six Books or Volumes,
and to each od which Acts they have
severally set their Hands, with the
Original ACts which Passed the GREAT
SEAL of this Province, where
such Originals were extant, or to
be found in the Secretary's Office of this
Province; and, where the Originals
of any of the said Acts cou'd not be
found, with the Records of the same,
as they stand Recorded in the Secretary's
Office aforesaid. And that
the said several Acts contained in the said
Six Volumes or Transcript, and by
them so Signed as aforesaid, are true
Copies of the Original Acts, or
Records respectively, with which the same
have been by them Compared and Examined
as aforesaid, to the best of their
Knowledge, Skill, and Belief.
