CHAP. III.
An Act concerning proceedings at Law.  Lib. WH. fol. 70.  REP.  1678, ch. 16.
    Viz. In all Cases, where the Law of this Province is silent, Justice to be administered according
to the Laws and Statutes of England, if pleaded and produced.  And all Courts to judge of the
right Pleading and Inconsistency of the said laws, with the Good of this Province, according
to the best of their Judgment, Skill and Cunning.  A new Law made 1663-4, ch. 4.

Shillings per Poll of the said money, for every Taxable under their Charge and Custody, and
Pay for the same in good Casked Tobacco, at 2 d. per Pound, to be paid upon Tender of the said
Sums of Money, proportionally for every such respective Family, &c.  For 3 Years, &c.
