Pending the call of the yeaa and nays on the above amend-
ment,
Mr. Maulsby asked to be excused from voting,
Which was unanimously granted.
The question then recurring upon the amendment submit-
ted by Mr. Stoddert,
It was adopted.
The Convention then proceeded to the consideration of the
18th Section,
Pending which,
Mr. Barry submitted the following amendment:
Section 18, Executive Department, strike out all after the
word "to," in line 2, and insert "to examine under oath the
Treasurer and Comptroller of the State on all matters pertain-
ing to their respective offices, and inspect and review their
bank and other account books ;"
Which was adopted.
