40 "Journal of the Council"

Spiritous Liquors contrary to Law, for which fine he was committed, that he is unable to pay
the fine, being very poor and has a large family, And five of the Justices of the said County
having represented the Petitioner as in very indigent Circumstances and in other respects a
harmless inoffensive man, The Board in Consideration of his Confinement and poverty do direct
that the said fine of six pounds be remitted.
