Friday 17th. May 1793

The Council met.

Present as on Yesterday.

William Smithson appointed an Associate Justice of Harford County in the room of
John Love deceased and Commission issued [p. 237] to Benedict Edward Hall and
William Smithson Associate Justices of the said Court.

Tuesday 21st. May 1793

The Council met.
Present Mr Brice

Mr Kilty

Mr Davidson

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Jubb Fowler Fifteen pounds one shilling
due him per account passed by the Auditor.

Friday 24th. May 1793

The Council met.

Present as on Tuesday.

Summons's issued to Colo. William Richardson, Peter Edmondson and Henry Ward of
Caroline County to be and appear before the Governor and Council on Monday the third day
of June next, to testify on behalf of George Martin Surveyor of Caroline County on the
hearing of the Complaint of Charles Daffin.

Thursday 30th. May 1793

The Council met.
Present Mr Brice

Mr Ridgely and

Mr Davidson

[p 238] Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Colo. Uriah Forrest thirty
three pounds fifteen shillings for three Months half pay due him the 1st instant.

That the said Treasurer pay to Sam'l Chase Esquire one hundred and fifty pounds for one
quarter's Salary as Chief Judge of the General Court due the 1st instant.

In Council May 30th. 1793

Jeremiah Evans of St Marys County by his Petition sets forth, and it also appearing by
a Certificate of the Clerk of the County Court of the said County, that he was recognized for his
appearance at March term seventeen hundred and ninety, to testify for the State against a
certain Timothy Connelly in the sum of ten pounds, which said Recognizance became forfeited
at the term aforesaid by his non attendance.

The Petitioner states that from indisposition he was unable to appear at the Court aforesaid
agreeably to the tenor of his said Recognizance, and therefore prays a remission thereof, and
the then Justices of the said Court having certified that they have reason to believe that the
