Monday 21st. January 1793

The Council met.
Present the Governor

[p. 199] William Done appointed Clerk of Somerset County Court in the room of
Thomas Hayward who has resigned and Commission issued to him accordingly.

The Board proceeded to enquire into the Charges exhibited by Daniel Curffman of
Baltimore County against Edmund Stansbury Esquire one of the Justices of the peace for the
said County—when upon the examination of all the Witnesses attending—the Charges of
Drunkenness and of oppressive conduct to the said Curffman were fully proved, and it was
thereupon determined that the said Stansbury be not included in the new Commission of the
peace for Baltimore County.

Commission issued to John Moale, James Calhoun, George Goldsmith Presbury, Isaac
Van Bibber, John Craddock, Jeremiah Johnson, Charles Ridgely of W'm, Abraham Van
Bibber, Edward Cockey, Thomas Elliott, Thomas Todd, Thomas Bayley. Henry Lammott,
Thorowgood Smith, Isaac Griest, Francis Snowden, George Salmon, John Robert Hollyday,
Nicholas Rogers, Richard Winchester, Joshua Cockey, William McLaughlin and Joshua
Lemmon appointed Justices of the Peace for Baltimore County.

In Council June 23d. 1793

Ordered that the Auditor General be requested to examine the Account of Mr Overton
Carr against the Rev'd Mr Boucher, and that he State an Account of all the Debits as they
stand charged and carry out the same together with the Credits in Specie reducing all Con-
tinental charges and Credits into Specie according to the Baltimore Scale of Depreciation, and
that in the Account so stated by him he note such charges as in his opinion ought not to be
allowed and his reasons therefore.
