adjust the Debts due from this State," per Certificate adjusted by the Auditor the 9th inst.
The Auditor is requested to issue a Certificate for the Depreciation of pay to Joshua
Broughton late a private in the 2d Maryland Regiment and deliver the same to the Treasurer
of the western shore, who is ordered to pay it to John Dove in virtue of a Power of Attorney
from John Broughton Brother and Administrator.

[p. 133] Monday 15th. October 1792

The Auditor is requested to issue a Certificate for the Depreciation of pay to Thomas
Burrows late a soldier in the 1st Maryland Regiment and deliver the same to the Treasurer of
the western shore who is ordered to pay it to Capt. Thomas A. Dyson in virtue of a Power
of Attorney from Joshua Burrows Father and Administrator of the said Thomas.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Jubb Fowler Twelve pounds, fourteen
shillings for the Board etc. of Thomas Walley per Account passed by the Auditor,

That the said Treasurer pay to Richard Owen Five pounds, three shillings, and two
pence half penny due to St. Johns College for the Education of Thomas Walley per Account
passed.

In Council October 15, 1792

The Petitioner of Henry Roberts of Baltimore County was laid before the Board setting
forth that he was indicted at the last Baltimore [p. 134] Criminal Court for having
shot Robert Bailey through the leg, and was found guilty, that the said Court fined him
thirty pounds, a sum fully equal to all he is worth, that for want of Money to pay the said
fine he has been committed to Goal, where he has been confined for some time, and is now
sick, that he was a wife and seven small Children, whose only prospect of support must depend
entirely on his labour, and exertions, and several respectable Inhabitants of Baltimore having
certified that the facts set forth are true and recommending a remission of the fine, and it also
appearing by the Certificate of the Sheriff of the said County that he had given security for
his future good behaviour The Board in consideration of his poverty, and helpless family do
order and direct the said fine of Thirty pounds to be remitted on his paying all Costs arising
on the said Prosecution.
