Friday 6th. April 1792

The Council met.

Present His Excellency Thomas Sim Lee Esquire

Mr Brice

Mr Ridgely

Mr Davidson

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Edward Roberts Three pounds, fifteen
shillings due him per Account passed by the Auditor,

That the said Treasurer pay to William Sewell two pounds, ten shillings due him per
Account passed by the Auditor,

That the said Treasurer pay to James Cowan Eighteen pounds and one penny half penny
Curr't Money due him on Account passed by the Auditor General. [p 6o] Com-
missions issued to Richard Willson as Register of Wills for Queen Anns County, and to

James Price Register of Wills for Talbot County appointed by the General Assembly.

Monday 9th. April 1792

The Council met.

In Council April 9th. 1792

Joshua Knight of Baltimore County by his Petition sets forth that he entered into a
recognizance in the sum of ten pounds current Money for the appearance of his Brother David
Knight at Baltimore County Criminal Court November term 1790, at which Term the said
David Knight attended agreeably to the tenor of the recognizance and which was respited to the
next term, that at the next term being January Term 1791 he the Petitioner was out of the
County and his not being called upon the first term he had reason to believe he was discharged
from the said recognizance and that his Brother David Knight did not appear at the second term
as he did not know the recognizance was respited at which said term last mentioned the recog-
nizance was forfeited, and he the Petitioner is now under execution for the same and that he
[p. 61] is unable to discharge the forfeiture, and if not relieved that it will totally ruin him.
The Board taking into consideration the recommendation of three of the Justices of the said
Court, and the recommendation of several of the Inhabitants of the said County on account of
his low Circumstances, do order and direct that the forfeiture aforesaid of ten pounds Current
Money be remitted upon the Petitioner's paying all the Costs arising on the said Recognizance.
