Saturday 24th December 1791

The Council met.

Present The Hon'ble James Brice

Henry Ridgely

John Davidson Esquires

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Jesse Lock Two hundred and fifty
five pounds and one penny due him per Account passed by the Auditor General.

In Council December 24 1791

John Campario of Baltimore town by his Petition sets forth, that he for many years
past has kept a tavern in Baltimore, that he has uniformly maintained the Character of an
industrious inoffensive Citizen and that he has always conducted his tavern with every
attention to regularity and order, that at the Court of Oyer and terminer for Baltimore
County he was indicted and convicted of having sold Spiritous liquors on a Sunday and
was fined by the said Court for the said Offence. 2000 tn., that he [p. 20] never was
charged before with any irregularity as a tavern keeper, and that he did not know that he
violated any Law of this State by selling liquors on Sunday. It appears from a Certificate of
the Clerk of the said Court that it was at November term 1790 that the said fine was laid.
Four of the Justices of the said Court having recommended the Petitioner to the Clemency
of the Board, It is ordered that one thousand pounds of Tobacco, part of the said fine of two
thousand pounds of Tobacco be remitted.

Monday 26th. December 1791

The Council met.

An Account of Henry Hollingsworth Esqr. as Agent, having been liquidated by the
Auditor General the ist instant, and the balance due to the State paid into the Treasury, is
approved by the Board.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Daniel Cresap Six pounds due him
per Account passed by the Auditor General.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

[p. 21] Tuesday 27 December 1791

The Council met.

Present as on yesterday.

The Auditor General is requested to issue a Certificate of Depreciation to Doct. Ennalls
