The Council met.

Pres't. the Hon'ble. Randolph B. Latimer

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Henry Ridgely Esqr. Fifty pounds for
one quarter's Salary as a Member of the Council due the 1st. instant,

That the said Treasurer pay to John Davidson Esqr. Fifty pounds for one quarter's Salary
as a Member of the Council due the 1st. inst,

That the said Treasurer pay to John Randall Two pounds, seven shillings and six pence
due him per Account passed by the Auditor General,

That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Denny Fifty pounds for one quarter's Salary as
Auditor Gen'l, due the 1st. instant.

Henry Ridgely Esquire having declined to act as a Justice of the Orphans Court of Ann
Arundel County,

Thomas Jenings Esquire was appointed and

Commission issued to Thomas Jenings, William Harwood and John Griffith Worth-
ington Justices of the Orphans Court of Ann Arundel County.

Friday 4th. February 1791
The Hon'ble. John Davidson Esqr. attended.

Saturday 5th. February 1791

The Council met.

It is this Day agreed to employ Samuel Chase Esqr. as Counsel for the State in the suit
instituted in the supreme federal Court by Messrs. Van Staphorst of Amsterdam, and to allow
Mr. Chase for his services one hundred Guineas, and to pay his travelling and board expences
while attending the said suit.

The Council adjourned 'till Monday morning.
