The Council met.
Present as on Yesterday.

In Council April 3d. 1789

Charles Mankin Esquire Collector of taxes for Charles County having prayed the
indulgence, which by An Act of Assembly passed at their last Session entitled "An Act to
empower the Governor and Council to compound with the discoverers of british property and
for other purposes" this Board is authorized to grant on certain Conditions, which Conditions
the said Charles Mankin has complied with and the Board being of opinion that he has used
his best endeavors to discharge the balance he owes the State.

Resolved that all Proceedings at Law against the said Charles Mankin or his Securities
for the balance due from him to the State for the taxes in Charles County aforesaid in the
years 1784 and 1785, be suspended for three Months from the twelth of March last.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

Saturday 4th. April 1789

The Council met.

Present as on Yesterday.

Ordered that the western shore treasurer pay to William Hoofman fifteen pounds,
fifteen shillings and six pence for the like sum paid into the Treasury for Caution on eleven
Warrants from No. I to n inclusive obtained out of the Land Office to affect Lands lying
within the reserves of the late Lord Proprietary in Baltimore County as appears by a
Certificate of the Register of the Land Office.

The Treasurer of the western shore was directed by letter to suspend the Execution
against Rinaldo Johnson for the Interest of his debt to the State until the thirteenth of
the present Month.

Commission issued to Cephas Childs appointed one of the Inspectors at Pig point Ware-
house in Ann Arundel County—and the following Persons re-appointed Inspectors in Same
County. [Marginal Note:] Inspection Law expired and no Com [mission] sent

Taylors landing John Basford

Indian landing John Marriott

Pig point William Tillard

Annapolis Moses Maccubbin

The Council adjourned 'till Monday morning.
