Jury had presented him, that he had no intention of evading the Laws of the State, but that his
neglecting to take out licence was entirely owing to an eronious opinion formed on information
which he had no reason to doubt; the [p. 209] Petitioner having annexed his deposi-
tion as to the truth of the facts stated with a recommendation from five of the Magistrates of
the Court, the Board on consideration of the Circumstances do order and direct that five of the
aforesaid fines be remitted.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Thomas Johnson junr. Eighteen pounds,
nine shillings and six pence due him per Account passed by the Auditor and also the further
Sum of Sixty two pounds ten shillings for one quarter's Salary as Clerk of the Council due the
1st. instant,

That the said Treasurer pay to John Davidson, Esqr. fifty pounds for one quarter's Salary
as a Member of the Council.
