The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Smallwood Esquire.

John Kilty Esquires.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Thomas John-
son Junior Forty two pounds, eighteen shillings and four pence cur-
rent Money due him on Account of Sundries for Miss Grason per
Account passed by the Auditor General.

The Council adjourned till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Wednesday 5th. April 1786

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Smallwood Esquire.

Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Thos. Beard
Nine pounds, eight shillings and four pence specie agreeably to the
"Act to adjust the Debts due from this State" per Account passed
by the Aud'r. Gen'l.

On Considering a Letter from the Auditor General of the 30th.
March last, stating that he has in Virtue of the Powers given him by a
Resolve of the General Assembly of the 12th. of the same Month,
appointed two Clerks to assist in the Business of his Office, the Board
agreeably to that part of the sd. Resolution which empowers them
to fix the allowance Do direct that the said Clerks receive a Salary
at the Rate of One hundred and seventy five pounds per Annum each,
so long as their service shall be necessary.

The Board, taking into Consideration the Resolve of the General
Assembly of the 10th. March, Do direct that the sum of Twenty five
pounds per Annum be allowed the Messenger of the Council for the
services in the said Resolution mentioned, to commence from the
10th. March last.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.
