[p 65] Saturday 15th. October 1785

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Paca Esquire Governor.

The Honorable
Charles Wallace, Aquila Paca and John Davidson Esquires.

Commissions issued to William Banks elected Sheriff of Caroline
County.

Joshua Townsend elected Sheriff of Worcester County.
Robert Amoss elected Sheriff of Harford County.
The Honorable Sam'l. T. Wright Esquire attended.
Commission issued to George Hanson elected Sheriff of Kent
County.

Benjamin Griffith & Co. exhibits an Account against Robert
Christie Jun'r. for One hundred and sixty seven pounds, fourteen
shillings, and ten pence, which is examined and approved by this
Board.

The Council adjourned 'till Monday Morning 11 o'clock.

Monday 17th. October 1785

The Council met.

Present the Honorable

Chs. Wallace, Aql. Paca, John Davidson and Sam'l. T. Wright
Esquires.

The following Accounts against Confiscated British Property
were laid before the Board: George Kurk agt. Daniel Dulany of
Dan'l, for Twenty seven pounds, thirteen shillings and six pence;

Henry Jackson against the Same for Seventy three pounds four
shillings and eleven pence; Stephen Miller against the same for
Thirty nine pounds three shillings and three pence; and Jacob Rans-
burg against the same for Twenty seven pounds ten shillings. Which
Accounts are rejected, because Mr. Dulany had contracted with
Mr. Anderson for the building his House by whom all Contracts
were made and to whom Application must be made for Payment and
it appearing that Mr. Dulany fully paid Anderson.

On Considering the Justices Return of the Election for Sheriffs
of Caecil County, and Letters from sundry, Inhabitants of said County
complaining that the sd. Election was not made fairly and agreeable
to the Constitution, and requesting [p 66] to have an hear-
ing before the Governor and Council, Ordered Thursday the third
Day of November next be appointed for hearing and enquiring into
the Same, and that the Parties attend on that Day with their Wit-
nesses, and that Summons's issue when applied for.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.
