The Council adjourned till tomorrow Morning 11 o'clock.

Tuesday 9th. August 1785

The Council met.

Present as on Yesterday.
The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Wednesday loth. August 1785

The Council met.

Present the Honorable

Charles Wallace, Aquila Paca, John Davidson, John H. Stone and
Samuel T. Wright Esquires.

[p 49] The following Accounts against Confiscated British
Property exhibited to this Board and examined and approved.

Shields & Mattison against Robert Alexander with Interest to
the 1st. July 1785 Four pounds, fifteen shillings and two pence,

Jesse Hollingsworth & Co. against Ditto with Interest as afore-
said Twenty six pounds, eighteen shillings and five pence,

Martha and Moses Levy Ex'rs. of Samson Levy against Robert
Christie Junr. with Interest as aforesaid Two hundred and fifty
pounds fifteen shillings and eleven pence.

The Council adjourned till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Thursday 11th. August 1785

The Council met.

Present the Honorable

Charles Wallace, Aquila Paca, John Davidson and Samuel T.
Wright Esquires.

A Petition from Israel Cross and John Cross of Baltimore County
was laid before this Board setting forth that they are fined for not
going to Baltimore at an Alarm, That Israel was called upon at a
time when it was out of his Power to attend from the Dangerous
situation in which his Wife then lay, having but just been brought to
bed, and that John never had Notice, nor knew any thing of such a
fine being imposed on him until he was called upon to pay it, that
from their indigent Circumstances they are by no means of Ability
to pay the said Fines, And three of the Justices of Baltimore County
aforesaid having certified that they believe the Facts stated in their
Petition are true, and recommending them as Objects of Mercy, We
are of Opinion, and do therefore Order and direct that the Fines
