Monday 13th. June 1785

The Council met.

Present the Honorable

Charles Wallace, Aquila Paca and John Davidson Esquires.
The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow 11 o'clock.

[p 40] Tuesday 14th. June 1785

The Council met.

Present as on Yesterday.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Vachel White
nine pounds Current Money for 1 Month and 9 Days Board of
James O'Hara, attendance on him in his Sickness, a Coffin, sheet and
funeral Expences and Board of his Child from the 18th. April to the
17 June 1785 allowed by this Board in Virtue of a Resolution of the
General Assembly of July 1779.

The Council adjourned 'till Saturday the 18th. Instant.
The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Paca Esquire Governor,

The Honorable

Charles Wallace, Aquila Paca, John Davidson and Samuel T. Wright
Esquires.

A Petition from Andrew Lavely of Baltimore County was laid
before the Board, setting forth that he was arrested and Confined
in Baltimore County Gaol for forfeited Recognizances and other
Debts which he was unable to pay, That the said Recognizances be-
came forfeited by his absence from the State at the time he was
called to attend the Court as a Witness, And three of the Justices
of the County aforesaid having Certified that Andrew Lavely was
Recognized at September Term 1784 in two Several Matters as a
Witness against Jacob Eden in the Sum of Thirty pounds for each,
and also in the like Sum for his Wife Elizabeth Lavely, representing
him as a Person unable to pay the said forfeitures, and recommend-
ing him to the Mercy of the Governor, The Board upon Considera-
tion thereof do Order and direct that the several forfeited Recog-
nizances aforesaid be remitted.
