Pratt and James Hindman Justices of the County Court.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.

The Council met.

Present his Excellency John Eager Howard Esquire.
The Hon'ble. James Brice

John Kilty Esquires.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to William Deford
Junr. four pounds, seventeen shillings and six pence Current Money
as a chain carrier on the Survey of Queen Anne's County Manor
per Account passed by the Auditor General.

In Council December 20th. 1788

Walter Taylor of Harford County by his Petition to the Board
sets forth, that he was presented in the Court of said County for an
assault on a certain Thomas Durbin, in consequence whereof a Capias
was issued and returned by the Sheriff caepi, that the Petitioner being
unacquainted with Court business, and thinking that he might venture
to wait 'till the second Court, when he could have procured evidence
in his favor, did not appear when called by the Court, who thereupon
amerced the Sheriff five pounds, which Sum the Petitioner must
ultimately pay unless the interposition of this Board relieves him.
The Petition is accompanied by the Deposition of two persons, prov-
ing that the said Taylor only interfered between Durbin and some
persons to whom he was offering violence. And four of the Justices
of the said County having certified their belief in the facts set forth,
