264 Journal of the State Council, 1784-1789.

and the Auditor General due him the 12th August last agreeably to
Contract with this Board,

That the said Treasurer pay to the said Daniel of St. Thomas
Jenifer Esqr. Thirty seven pounds, ten shillings for three months
rent of said House due the 12th. November last,

That the said Treasurer pay to the said Dan'l, of St. Tho's. Jenifer
Thirty seven pounds ten shillings for three Months rent of said
House due the 12th. February last,

That the said Treasurer pay to the said Dan'l, of St. Tho's. Jenifer
Thirty seven pounds, ten shillings for three Months rent of said
House in full to the 12th. instant.

Commission issued to Edward Noel, Thomas Jones, James Shaw,
Joseph Baffin and Levin Kirkman appointed Justices of the Orphans
Court for Dorchester County.

Adjourned 'till Monday Morning next.

The Council met.

In Council June 2d. 1788

By a transcript from the Records of the Court of Charles County,
it appears that Thomas Dehany was at the last April term of the said
Court fined in the sum of Twenty pounds Current Money on the non
payment of which he was committed to the Custody of the Sheriff.
And by a paper accompanying the said transcript it appears that he
now remains in the Goal of the said County and that the Sheriff and
Clerk have relinquished their fees on Account of the Man's poverty.
And Whereas three Magistrates of the said County certify that the
said Dehany is unable to pay the said fine or any part thereof, and
do recommend a Remission of the same, the Board on Considera-
tion of his inability, do order and direct that the said fine of Twenty
pounds be and it is hereby remitted.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning.
