198 Journal of the State Council, 1784-1789.

On the Memorial of Captain Fearon of the Brigantine Lively from
London accompanied by a Petition of sundry Merchants of Baltimore
Town complaining of the maleconduct of Mr. Zachariah Alien in
the Office of Notary Public for Baltimore County, the Board have ap-
pointed Monday the twenty fifth Day of this instant June for enquir-
ing into and examining the Charges contained in the said Memorial
and Petition, and do order that on the application of the Partie's,
Subpoena's issue for the attendance of Witnesses.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Friday 8th. June 1787

Present as on Yesterday.

Saturday 9th. June 1787

The Council met.

The Council adjourned 'till Monday Morning 11 o'clock.

Present as on Saturday.

Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Mrs. Anne
Lavascher Widow of the late Lieut. John Lavascher Fifteen pounds
for three Months' half Pay due her the 8th. instant.

His Excellency William Smallwood Esquire attended.

Colo. Francis Deakins is appointed to lay out the lands the prop-
erty of the State to the Westward of Fort Cumberland agreeably
to a Resolution of the General Assembly of the 20th. of May last.

The Council adjourned till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Tuesday 12th. June 1787

The Council met.
