178 Journal of the State Council, 1784-1789.

sitting of the Corporation and Mayors Court of the City of An-
napolis, as per Account passed by the Auditor General.

That the said Treasurer pay to John White Eleven pounds five
shillings for pay as Commissioner to the 1st. February last per
Account passed by Auditor General.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Saturday 10th. March 1787

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Smallwood Esquire.

The Hon'ble. James Brice

John Kilty

John Davidson Esquires.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to James Johnson
Adm'r. of William Richardson late a Soldier in the 7th. Maryland
Regiment Twelve pounds ten shillings Current Money for five
Months pay due the said Richardson from 1st. August 1780 to 1st.
January 1781 as per Certificate from the Auditor General.

The Council adjourned 'till Monday Morning 11 o'clock.

Monday 12th. March 1787

The Honorable James Brice and John Davidson Esquires at-
tended.

Thursday 15th. March 1787

The Council met.

Commissions issued to Thomas Ramsey Hodge and Thomas Lyles
appointed Inspectors at Queen Ann Warehouse in Prince George's
County in the room of Geo. Hilleary and Jos. W. Clagett resigned
William Thomas appointed Inspector of Frederick Town Warehouse
in Fred County vice Rich'd. Smith deceased.

Richard Chew of Caecil County by his Petition to the Board sets
forth, that to prevent a certain William Caldwell from Confinement
on two Presentments, he entered into two Recognizances of Twenty
pounds each for the appearance of the said Caldwell, who shortly
after absconded, and has not, to the Petitioners knowledge been since
