Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Alien Quynn
Sixty seven pounds, nine shillings and three pence Current Money
for wood furnished the General Assembly per Account passed by the
Auditor General.

His Excellency William Smallwood Esquire appeared.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to John Kilty
Esqr. Eighteen pounds, fifteen shillings for one quarters Salary due
him the 1st. instant as a Member of the Council.

That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Fowler Six pounds Cur-
rent Money for boarding Isaac Southall an Orphan Child of a Soldier
six Months ending 17th. Instant per Account passed by the Aud'r.
General.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Sunday 25th. February 1787

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Smallwood Esqr.

The Honorable Jeremiah Townley (sic) Chase
James Brice John Kilty
John Davidson Esquires.

[p 212] Samuel Turbutt Wright Esquire laid before the Board
a letter from Charles Downes dated the 23d. of this Month addressed
to the Court of Queen Anne's County signifying his Resignation of
the Clerkship of the said County Court, and strongly recommending
Mr. Wright for his Successor Whereupon the Board being, from their
knowledge of Mr. Wright, fully assured of his Ability to discharge
the said Trust, do agreeably to the power invested in them by the
Constitution, hereby appoint and Commission the said Samuel
Turbutt Wright Clerk of the Court oi Queen Anne's County afore-
said, to hold and exercise the same until the meeting of the said
Court.

Commission issued agreeably to the above Appointment.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

The Honorable John Kilty and John Davidson Esquires attended.

Tuesday 27th. December 1787

The Council met.
