156 Journal of the State Council, 1784-1789.

The following Letters received yesterday were sent to the General
Assembly No. 34. Decr. 1st. from Edmund Randolph Esqr. Governor
of Virginia with Resolves of Virginia Assembly 8th. Novem'r. last.

35. ditto from same .....with an Act of Virginia Assembly re-
specting the Appointment of Commissioners to revise the federal
system.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Friday 15th. December 1786

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Smallwood Esquire.

The Honorable Jeremiah T. Chase

James Brice

James Hindman

John Davidson Esquires.

[p 190] Ordered that the Eastern Shore Treasurer pay to Joseph
Clark Seventy five pounds, and also the further sum of seventy five
pounds, to be applied toward the repair of the public buildings and
accounted for.

That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to James Fulton Fifty four
pounds, twelve shillings and six pence for surveying Lands in Caecil
County per Account passed by the Deputy Auditor.

The Honorable John Kilty Esquire attended.

His Excellency William Smallwood Esquire attended.

Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Daniel of
St. Tho's. Jenifer Esquire Two hundred and fifty pounds for half a
year's Salary as Agent.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Saturday 16th. December 1786

The Council met.
Present

The Honorable James Brice

James Hindman

John Kilty

John Davidson

Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Hugh Young
Three hundred pounds ten shillings and three pence specie agreeably
to the "Act to adjust the Debts due from this State" due him per
Account passed by the Auditor General the 15th. May 1786.

That the said Treasurer pay to Frederick Green Ten pounds,
thirteen shillings and nine pence current Money due him per Account
passed by the Auditor General.

The Council adjourned 'till Monday Morning 11 o'clock.
