In Council July 7th. 1786

Sir,

We have considered your Proposition respecting the
Bank Stock, and have declined to adopt it. We are of Opinion that
Congress should be addressed, and requested to instruct their Min-
ister at the Court of Great Britain [p 147] to represent to
that Court the Claim of this State, the Proceedings in Chancery
to obtain it, and the Difficulties and Impediments occasioned by the
Crown's Interference and becoming a Party: and to press for a speedy
removal of them. As a proper Ground to address Congress, We re-
quest that you will exhibit a Memorial to this Board stating the whole
Circumstances of the Suits in Chancery.

The Council adjourned 'till Monday Morning 11 o'clock.

Monday 10th. July 1786

The Council met.

Present His Excellency William Smallwood Esquire.

The Honorable Jeremiah T. Chase
James Brice
Samuel T. Wright
William Paca Esquires.

Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to John Wilmot
Sixteen pounds, five shillings and five pence current Money due on
two Accounts passed by the Auditor General.

The Honorable John Kilty Esquire attended.

The Honorable Jeremiah T. Chase Esqr. absent.

Commission issued to William Humphreys appointed Surveyor
of Caecil County in the room of Richard Ellis resigned.

The Council adjourned 'till tomorrow morning 11 o'clock.

Tuesday nth. July 1786

The Council met.

The Hon'ble. James Brice

Samuel T. Wright Esquires.

[p 148] Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to
Benjamin Harrison Kerrick Adm'r. of Joseph Kerrick late a Soldier
of the 1st. Regiment Twelve pounds, ten shillings Current Money
