100 Journal of the State Council, 1784-1789.

Ordered that the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Benjamin
McKilvane Eight pounds, three shillings and four pence, Samuel
Lancaster Ten pounds, eleven shillings and eight pence, Robert Scott
Eight pounds three shillings and four pence, William Ford Eight
pounds, three shillings and four pence, and John Nelson Eight
pounds, three shillings and four pence specie agreeably to the "Act to
adjust the Debts due from this State" per Acc't. passed by Aud'r.
Gen'l 10 Instant.

[p 122] Captain John Hamilton the Agent for the Officers and
Soldiers of the Maryland Line of Infantry, having signified that the
delivery of the Certificates received by him from the Deputy Com-
missioner of Army Accounts is so nearly completed as to render his
farther attention to the business unnecessary, Ordered That the Clerk
of the Council receive from Captain John Hamilton all the Certificates
for the final Settlements of the Officers and Soldiers aforesaid which
remain in his Hands and that he pass his Receipt to Captain Hamilton
for the same.

Commissions issued to the following Persons appointed Inspectors
agreeably to the "Act to prevent the exportation of Merchantable
Tobacco" passed November Session 1786.
