Provincial Court Proceedings, 1681. 99 prmisses with the appurtenances to the said parcell of Land belong- Liber W. C. ing or in any wise appertaining Richard Wells of the County of Ann Arundell Planter & Mary his wife daughter and heire of Thomas Martin deceased in right of the Said Mary to him the said John Shrigley for a Terme wch is not yet past had Demised, Entred, and him the said John Shrigley from his ffarme aforesaid did Eject, and other harmes to him did To the greate Damage of him the said John shrigley and against his Lopps peace &ca And Whereupon the said John Shrigley by George Parker his Attorney sayth That Whereas the said Richard Wells and Mary his wife Daughter and heire of the said Thomas Martin deceased Upon the foure and Twentyeth day of June in the Sixth yeare of ye Domin ion of the Right Honoble Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c Annocp Doni. 1681 att Herring Creeke in Ann-Arundell County Did Demise to the Said John Shrigley all that the said parcell of Land called Hunts Mount lyeing in Ann Arundell County On the west side of the Herring Creeke at the head of Land formerly laid out unto Samuel Chew and Edward Carter & ffrancis Holland Con taining Three hundred and fifty Acres more or lesse To be holden of the Mannor of St Maryes Together with all houses Edifices build ings Gardens Stables Orchards & all other the premisses with the appurtenances to the said parcell of land belonging or in any wise appertaining, To have & to hold the said parcel of land Edifices build ings gardens stables Orchards and all other the prmisses with the appurtenances to the same belonging to him the said John Shriggley and his assignes from the said ffoure and Twentyeth day of June aforesaid for and Dureing and untill the full end and Terme of three yeares from thence next ensueing & fully to be Compleate and ended, By vertue of wch said Demise the said John shrigley into the said parcell of land houses Edifices buildings and prmisses with the appurtenances Entred and was thereof posessed, and being soe thereof posessed the said John Gale afterwards that is to say the Twentyeth day of July in the yeare of our Lord God 1681 into the said parcell of land Houses Edifices buildings & premisses afore said with their appurtenances wch the said Richard Wells and Mary his wife to him the said John Shrigley in manner and forme a fore said had Demised for the Terme aforesaid wch is not yet past Entred and him the said John Shrigley from his ifarme aforesaid Did Eject and other harmes to him Did to the greate damage of the said John Shrigley and against his Lopps peace &c. And whereupon he sayth he is the worse and hath Losse to the Vallue of Twenty thousand pounds of Tobacco, And thereupon hee bringeth his suite Unlesse The Tennant in Posession or they undr whome he Claimes Doe the next Provinciall Court appeare to this DeclaracOn, and make |
