Marke Cordea late of St Maryes County was Sum-
oned to Answer unto John Addison of a plea that
he acquitt him of twenty one thousand seven hun-
dred twenty & two pounds of tobacco whereof the
|

same John Addison putt himselfe in pledge against the right Honble
Charles Lord Baltemore for the said Marke Cordea, & him thereof
hath not yet acquitted
And whereupon the same John Addison by Robert Ridgely his
Attorney saith, that whereas he the said John Addison att the spe-
ciall instance & request of the said Marke Cordea & for the true debt
of the same Marke Cordea, the Eighteenth day of June in the yeare
of our Lord One thousand Six hundred seventy & Eight, att the
Citty of St Maryes by his certaine writeing obligatory became bound
to the same Charles Lord Baltemore together with the same Marke
Cordea & Walter Hall deceased in the same twenty one thousand
seven hundred twenty & two pounds of tobacco, with a Condition
to the same writing obligatory subscribed for the true paymt of the
sume of tenn thousand Eight hundred sixty & one pounds of tobacco
upon the tenth day of Decembr then next ensuing, att which said
tenth day of Decembr the said Charles Lord Baltemore att the Citty
of St Maryes aforesaid requested the same Marke Cordea as prin-
cipall debitor to pay to the same Charles Lord Baltemore the said
tenn thousand Eight hundred Sixty & one pounds of tobacco And
the said Marke the same to the said Charles Lord Baltemore to pay
then & there altogether refused And the same tenn thousand Eight
hundred Sixty & one pounds of tobacco to the said Charles Lord
Baltemore att that day paid not, whereupon the said Charles Lord
